Merced County (Calif.) Sheriff's Dept.Salary told correctional officers that a 21-year-old-inmate "disrespected Michael Jackson," according to the Modesto Bee.
The inmate's exact words were not specifically clear. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Salery is expected to be charged with aggravated assault and battery.
