Wing Bowl 17

Amateur Heavyweights Compete at Philadelphia Chow Championship

From Buck Wolf, About.com

For devouring 203 wings in about 20 minutes, John "Super Squibb" Squibb won Philadelphia's Wing Bowl 17, taking home a car, a $7,500 diamond ring and a crown of miniature chickens. And maybe a case of indigestion.

The contest, held every year on the Friday before the Super Bowl, is sponsored by sports-talk station WIP-AM. It also features the scantily clad "Wingettes," and lots of bizarre festivities. Richard "Not Rich" Razzi came in second by eating 180 wings.
