Peering down from the roof, police and firefighters found him 45 feet down, in the ducts of the building's ventilation system. Smith allegedly told officers he was there to "defuse and confiscate" a Soviet-made nuclear warhead, according to the Associated Press.
"Mission failed," Smith told authorities, who arrested him on charges of robbery.
