The bullet stuck in the wall and no one was harmed. But under Florida's "mandatory minimum" sentencing program, Wollard must now serve 20 years in jail.
"I would expect this in the former Soviet Union or from some banana republic but not from the United States of America," Wollard said at the sentencing, according to the Lakeland Ledger.
