Former police officer Joseph Houston lost his job and faced criminal charges after a Jan. 18 Metallica concert in which he allegedly pulled down his pants, exposed his you-know-what, harassed a family that was sitting in front of him, and urinating on a man's shirt.
Prosecutors say his pants were still pulled down when he lunged at the man's sister.
After transit authorities took him into custody, he refused to leave, and even returned after being escorted out.
Now, Houston's attorney, Thomas Drechsler, tells the Cape Cod Times that his client has "put the matter behind him" by pleading guilty to a trespassing and an assault and battery charge.
The plea allows Houston to avoid having to stand trial for the lewdness charges. He must undergo alcoholic evaluation and treatment, and repay the family the $2,631 they spent to attend the concert. He must also give up any appeal to be reinstated by the Brewster Police Department.
One must also assume Houston won't be wearing his "Alcoholica" shirt again soon. But he remains out of jail, so that's up to him.
