This alligator crawling up out of the sewer is actually one of a number of gator sculptures placed around New York City to promote the new season of "Swamp People," a show on History about, well, Louisiana's swamp people... who hunt alligators for a living.
And I thought I had a lousy job.
As Ed Mazza writes at AOL News, the network did more than set up some gator statues -- they also sent a cajun cuisine truck around, and gave Manhattanites a taste of the bayou. They fed 1,000 people nutria, which is basically a giant rat.
I wonder if they knew.
See the gator and other eye-catching images in my Weird Art Gallery.
Oh, and in case you were wondering, Ed writes that the whole alligators-in-the-sewer thing isn't real -- it's just another urban legend.
