Her mother-in-law, Sandra Whitfield. The 420-square foot mosaic is actually a card for her 50th birthday.
"She's certainly not a stereotypical mother in law," Hadland said in a press release from Guinness World Records. "She's one of my best friends and I love her."
The 600 loaves of bread used in the piece were toasted to 3 different shades of brown, then carefully arranged over the course of 7 hours. Haldand, a museum curator, has experience with Roman mosaics, which came in handy when recreating her mother-in-law... who didn't feel burned by the strange carb-loaded honor at all.
"It was certainly a massive shock," she was quoted as saying. "I love toast but it feels very strange seeing my face made out of it."
