Sandy Allen: Big-Hearted Giantess

Sandy Allen of Indiana was only 6-lbs., 5-oz. at birth. A tumor in her pituitary gland triggered her abnormal growth. At 10 years old, she was six-foot-tall and towered over her teacher. In 1976, Guinness recognized you as the world's tallest living woman. She would reach 7-foot-7 1/4 inches when she finally stopped growing.
