That will be the scene at the 32nd Annual Jousting Competition, part of the Long’s Peak Highland Festival in Estes Park, Colorado. The event brings armored Scottish and Irish jousters together in horse-ridden combat to wow the crowd, and a few damsels, with their awesome abilities.

Forget about those Wizard of Oz freaks who doll up as munchkins or flying monkeys. At a Big Lebowski Festival (and there are several throughout the country) fans of the Coen Brothers classic honor "The Dude" -- Jeff Daniels' bowling-loving stoner.
Sept. 23-24: Ohara Hadaka Matsuri (Naked Festival)

As they have done for generations, thousands of naked and nearly naked Japanese men in Ohara rushed into the sea carrying Shinto shrines for the "Shio-fumi" ritual. The stunning display of masculine strength -- otherwise known as "Ohara Hadaka Matsuri" -- is witnessed by huge crowds.
