Eat your heart out Gene Simmons. The KISS frontman doesn't have the world's longest tongue... he doesn't even have the longest tongue in America.
The latter distinction belongs to actor Nick Afanasiev, who sports a 3.5-inch licker, making it the country's longest male tongue.
And -- Believe It or Not! -- that's not even the longest tongue in the U.S. -- Houston student Chanel Tapper has one that measures 3.8 inches long, a tongue that falls short of the world record of 3.8 inches, held by Stephen Taylor of the U.K.
I'm sure there's a Jonah Falcon joke in here somewhere... but this being a family-friendly site (most of the time) I don't want to make it.
Get an uncomfortably close look at Afanasiev's tongue -- as well as other incredibly bizarre bodies, like a woman with 19-foot-long hair and a man who can send 200,000 volts shooting through his body -- in my special Ripley's photo collection, The Bizarre Body.
And for more people with bizarre bodies and weird talents, pick up the new book from Ripley's, Strikingly True.
