Learn to Cook, See the Future With Japanese Comics

As a weird news guy, I can't approach Thanksgiving and not be grateful for Japan. This is a country that's given me maid cafes, crime-fighting robots, Takeru Kobayashi and a first lady who rode a UFO to Venus.

Japan also has a somewhat unhealthy obsession with overly cute characters with freakishly large eyes. Now, these characters are ready to teach you how to cook Japanese dishes with odd names like "rabbit apples" and "egg buddies."

I try not to eat my buddies... but The Manga Cookbook looks like a fun gift for anyone who has a Japan fetish, loves those cuddly comics or doesn't know how to cook.

If cooking's not your thing (that's what ramen's for, right?), there's also a deck of Manga Tarot cards, where similarly adorable characters can predict your doom.

Then again, if you REALLY want to get someone a unique gift from Japan, there's always those used panty vending machines. Don't worry. I won't judge you.
