Jacko's Nose Is Falling Off (Not Again!)

Wednesday June 3, 2009
It's springtime. The flowers are blooming. The Yankees are in first place. And Michael Jackson's nose is falling off. Michael Jackson's Mask

OK, well, we don't know for sure that MJ is struggling with nose-lessness. But once again, that's what the gossip hounds are saying.

"Cancer stricken Micheal Jackson is terrified his nose will fall off," The Sun claims, even though "doctors have reassured him that this won't happen."

It should be noted that Jackson's spokesman Dr. Tohme Tohme (great name) told the New York Daily News, "He's in perfect health . . . He doesn't have any disease whatsoever."

The Sun, however, has been sticking with unnamed sources, and they say the 50-year-old King of Pop has foregone radiothearapy. Instead, the cancer will be scraped off layer by layer.

Jackson's ridiculous addiction to plastic surgery has fueled rumors about his nose at least as far as 2001, when he was in New York, rehearsing for his 30th anniversary TV special. The urban legends site Snopes.com documents the controversy around the star's decrepit proboscis, with quotes from various sources, including this one:

"More buzz about Michael Jackson . . . Insiders report the singer's nose is 'in trouble' and needs to be repaired as soon as possible," reports the Wellington Evening Post in 1995. "It seems Jackson's newest implant at the tip of his nose has become unstable and is causing the star serious breathing problems."
