Art or Junk Food? Eminem in M&Ms
Hungry for some culture? How about a portrait that melts in your mouth -- not on the wall?
Michelangelo chose marble for his statue of David. Gutzon Borglum chose granite cliffs to honor presidents at Mount Rushmore.
And now, artist Enrique Ramos has depicted hip-hop legend Eminem in, of course, M&Ms.
That's how the folks at
Ripley's Believe It Or Not! see it. This 8-lb. confection -- a mosaic of more than 1,000 chocolate candies -- is the latest edition to the museum's famous collection.
"This thing looks good enough to eat," said Tim O’Brien, Ripley's VP of Communications.
Ramos is no stranger to unusual media. His Mona Lisa painted on the back of a cockroach is a masterpiece in its own right. He’s also worked with flies, beans, animal bones and bats.
But where is the Elvis depicted in fried peanut butter-and-banana sandwiches? And what about a used syringe sculpture of Amy Winehouse?
