Hitler's Maid: He Was the Perfect Boss

Sunday December 7, 2008
Hitler's Maid

He slaughtered 6 million Jews, 5 million gypsies, homosexuals, communists and other undesirables, and fomented the most lethal war the world has ever seen.

But now, Hitler's maid is breaking her silence.

"He was a charming man, someone who was only ever nice to me, a great boss to work for," , 91-year-old Rosa Mitterer tells Britain's Daily Mail.

"You can say what you like, but he was a good man to us.'

In 1932, when she was 15, Mitterer took a job at Hitler's Bavarian mountain retreat, and remained in the Fuehrer service, following her sister Anni, who took a job as Hilter's cook in the 1920s.

"He was a charming man, someone who was only ever nice to me, a great boss to work for. You can say what you like, but he was a good man to us." Some historians say Hitler was rumored to have an affair with his previous housekeeper Geli Raubal, who fatally shot herself a year before Mitterer was hired.

"I was told as soon as I went to work for him that he was not to be approached on the anniversary of that day,' said Rosa.

Mitterer left the job in 1935, when she got engaged to married, and met her old only one more time, at her sister's wedding reception.

"That he had ordered such terrible things, I just couldn't believe it," she said. "Even now, I prefer to remember the charming facets of his personality."

*jaw drops*

Sorry, lady, but if you instigate a war, invade countries, violate treaties, and kill and torture millions of people, you are disqualified from being “charming.”

Are we talking about Hitler or George W Bush now? Seems like we’re approaching a grey area.
