World's Ugliest Dog Is Dead

He had one eye, three legs and a whole lot of heart.
I'm sad to report that Gus, the Chinese Crested from Gulfport Fla. who won the World's Ugliest Dog contest in June, has died after a long and courageous fight with cancer.
It was the disease that claimed his leg, and ravaged his skin. He lost an eye in a fight with a cat.
When I wrote a story of her in June, Jeanenne Teed, the dog's human companion, expressed such love for her pooch, and explained why she entered the dog in the unusual contest. We here at Weird News Central send our condolences.

I own 3 Chinese Crested and I have to say, Gus and those of his ilk are exceptions rather than the norm. The Chinese Crested is a beautiful breed.
