McCain Beats Obama . . . in Cockroach Race

Friday August 22, 2008
McCain's cockroach beat Obama's bug, crossing the finish line in a blistering 5 seconds.
Just when you thought the presidential election couldn't get any more insignificant, Rutgers University (where my dear wife studied pharmacy) hosted the 14th annual Roach Rally.

Before an audience of several hundred members of the New Jersey Pest Management Association, a creepy-crawly named "McCain" beat the Obama bug by more than a few antenna lengths. I leave it to About.com's insect guide Debbie Hadley, for the details.
