The main building of Oregon State Hospital, the 125-year-old mental institution where One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest was filmed, will soon be torn down. The 1975 Jack Nicholson classic won five Oscars, including Best Picture. Director Milos Forman lived here for six months to prepare for the film. Nicholson once recounted how demoralizing it was to watch one patient undergo electroshock therapy.
