The Lord Is My Chuck Shepherd . . .

Wednesday July 9, 2008

Chuck Shepherd is the Elvis of weird news –- the king of reporting on botched crime, gruesome (yet oddly amusing) industrial accidents, free-freaking trends, and deviants whom he’s taken to call “People whose sex lives are worse than yours.”

Starting today, Shepherd’s daily, News of the Weird Pro Edition can be found at WeirdUniverse.net –- a new site in which he joins forces with Alex Boese (curator of the Museum of Hoaxes) and science fiction writer Paul Di Filippo.

Now, I’ve gushed over Shepherd enough over the years to qualify for an order of protection. Less ardent fans should note that Chuck is still writing his weekly column, the one he’s been doing since 1988 that appears in roughly 200 newspapers and on a few websites.

So, if you want to find out how toilet technologists simulate excrement, what a Jesus Toilet looks like, and why a Washington judge issued a ruling by way of limerick (all featured on today's edition) check it out . . . and feel free to laugh.
