Eagle Rock School Gets Insect Monitor

Monday March 3, 2008

Melodie Conrad, an Eagle Rock schoolteacher, is getting praise from PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) for appointing an insect monitor to prevent the squashing of bugs in her classroom.

Conrad tells the Associated Press she's not exactly a bug rights activist. She just wants to underscore the notion that there's just too much violence in society.
