Where There's Smoke, There's a Liar
What ever happened to integrity in smoking?
Several days ago, we learned that Skip Legault, the one-legged poster boy in New York's anti-smoking campaign is, indeed, still smoking.
In ads, he tearfully talks about suffered an amputated leg, two heart attacks (the first at 28) and a stroke. And he says, "Every bit of this is from smoking."
Also last week, it was reported that a German company fired three people for not smoking -- allegedly because they were asking for a smoke free environment.
Now, we find that it was all a hoax perpetuated by a pro-smoking advocate. "He said he's a chain-smoker himself and said he was tired of smokers being hassled so much," the paper now says.
Maybe we should start asking just what these folks are smoking.
